Completing the financial forms

How much will I have to pay?

Social care is not free to everyone. The amount you have to pay is based on what you can afford. We work this out by completing an assessment of your finances which looks at your income (including benefits) and savings. If you are not willing to share your financial information, you will have to pay the full cost of care.

Financial checker

How long will it take?

The financial checker will take you about 5 minutes to complete.

Will I have to register?

You don't have to register or provide personal details for it.

What do I need to tell you?

We will ask you a few simple questions about your finances. This checker will give you an indication about whether you will have to pay full cost or a contribution.

What happens next?

Once you have completed the checker, you can decide whether you want to: find your own care and support services; complete a needs checker; or register to complete a detailed financial calculator and submit it to us.

Financial calculator

How long will it take?

This financial calculator will take you about 15 minutes to complete.

Will I have to register?

You will need to register as this enables you to save your form so you can come back to it at any time. You will need an email address in order to register.

What do I need to tell you?

This is a more detailed financial form to start the financial assessment process. It will help us to work with you to find out what you may have to pay towards the cost of your care. Before you start the calculator, we recommend you have the following information to hand; a copy of a recent bank statement may help you with this and a calculator:
• Income (e.g. pension, employment, dividends, benefits such as Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Attendance Allowance (AA), Personal Independence payment (PIP))
• Outgoings (e.g. rent/mortgage, council tax, household bills)
• Savings and investments (e.g. savings, shares, bonds, property)

What happens next?

Once completed, we will have the option to complete a needs assessment if you haven't done so already.  This will provide details of what care and support you may need and will take you about 15 minutes to complete. If you have already completed a needs assessment we won't ask you to complete another one.
